Activities

We are effectively advancing our sustainability management levels by publicly endorsing a wide range of ESG initiatives, and transparently disclosing our sustainability management systems, activities and accomplishments for each of the ESG topics.

GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)

HL Mando discloses sustainability management activities and performance in accordance with the GRI Standards, the international guidelines for corporate sustainability reporting. The credibility of this Sustainability Report is ensured by having all disclosed activities and performance data verified by a third party.
ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards)

ESRS are disclosure standards led by the EFRAG (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group) to provide a company’s comprehensive and transparent information on social and environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities to various stakeholders. The revised standards were adopted by the Executive Committee in 2023 and are scheduled for phased implementation starting in 2024. HL Mando has prepared this Sustainability Report by proactively applying the mandatory disclosure items under the ESRS.
SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)

The SASB provides industry-specific sustainability reporting standards that may impact financial value. HL Mando reports ESG topics linked to financial performance in accordance with the industrial standard for Auto Parts.
SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative)

The SBTi has approved HL Mando’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target. By joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), HL Mando has committed to setting science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets consistent with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
HL Mando aims to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 63% and Scope 3 emissions by 66.3% per unit of value added by 2035, compared to the 2023 base year. These targets reflect HL Mando’s strong commitment to achieving science-based decarbonization and contributing to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)

HL Mando has participated in the CDP for the Climate Change category since 2021, identifying both the company’s impact on climate change and the impact of climate change on the company, and actively planning and implementing activities to respond to climate change.
IFRS S2 (IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standard 2, Climate-related Disclosures)

As the TCFD is integrated into the IFRS, IFRS S2 is now being adopted as a global climate disclosure standard. IFRS requires country-specific implementation and legislation, and South Korea has developed KSSB Standard No. 2 and is preparing for mandatory application. IFRS S2 recommends disclosing the impact of climate change on corporate finance. In alignment with these recommendations, HL Mando transparently discloses governance, strategies, risk management, and GHG (greenhouse gas) reduction targets related to climate change, actively participating in global efforts to address climate change.
UN SDGs (UN Sustainable Development Goals)

HL Mando supports the UN SDGs, which were adopted by all UN member states in September 2015 and has made various achievements to promote development for people, the planet, peace, and partnerships. HL Mando will continue to actively advance initiatives that fulfill its social responsibilities.
UNGC (UN Global Compact)

Since April 2021, HL Mando has been a participant in the UNGC, promoting company-wide sustainability management, and has pledged to actively implement the Ten Principles of the UNGC across the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
K-EV100

To improve air quality and to achieve carbon neutrality in the transportation sector, HL Mando has joined the K-EV100 initiative led by the Ministry of Environment to promote the transition of company-owned or leased vehicles to EVs or hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2030. HL Mando plans to convert all company-owned or leased vehicles to zero emission vehicles by 2030 and install EV and hydrogen charging facilities at each site.
